Parc de la Ciutadella itself has a variety of attractions including the ornamental Cascada fountain, partially designed by Gaudi, and museums covering art, geology and zoology. Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar is a wonderful example of the Catalan Gothic style.
Barcelona's most important shopping districts are the Ramblas de Cataluna, Plaza de Frances Macia and Calle Pau Casals. The city has a range of lively bars and nightclubs the best of which are in the Barri Gothic and Gracia areas.
